South City Records will celebrate their newest CD release “Hattiesburg: Unplugged” on Nov. 3 at Keg and Barrel.
“Hattiesburg: Unplugged” will feature local artists Drew Young, Elizabeth Shows, Raven Jackson, Jana Bounds, Gary Stanton, Paul Linden and Chris Hartfield.
This is South City Records third CD release.
SCR Vice President Hunter White said choosing the artists for the CD was a challenge.
“Our ability to find diverse musical qualities in our thriving community allows us to create a truly incredible collection of music,” White said. “Because we aren’t a genre-based label, it is a challenge to narrow down our selections, but we feel that this group of artists is a great representation of what South City Records is trying to convey.”
At the release party, the featured artists will play their original works live at Keg and Barrel in downtown Hattiesburg.
“Our artists will be performing on Keg and Barrel’s outdoor patio,” he said. “Each artist showcased on the release will be performing 3-5 songs of their choosing.”
“It’s an awesome way to wrap up the weekend. The Keg and Barrel and Southern Prohibition will be offering specials when South City merchandise is purchased, too,” White added.
“Hattiesburg: Unplugged” will initially be available for digital download via download cards that will be at the Keg and Barrel. Shortly after the album’s release, White said it will be available on iTunes, Spotify and other popular online music services.
