University of Southern Mississippi Police are responding to an incident near the parking garage on the Hattiesburg campus involving a Southern Miss student. The student has been transported to a local hospital. UPD reports that there is not an associated criminal threat to the campus community; nevertheless, please avoid the area this evening.
Student Counseling Services (SCS) at Southern Miss is offering support for those affected by the incident. SCS can be reached at 601.266.4829 during regular business hours and at 601.606.4357(HELP) after 5 p.m. and on weekends.
