The Hattiesburg Zoo recently hosted its second annual Rum Under the Sun event on September 29, an activity for people 21 years-of-age and older.
The event welcomed a small band under the pavilion where guests sat and enjoyed a night of soft-tone music and cold adult beverages while admiring all the zoo’s offerings.
The entrance fee was $20 at the gate and $15 if advance. The event started at 6 and ran until 9. And the guests got to come and relax while they walked around the zoo and enjoyed all the animals the zoo houses.
A couple from the event came from out of town to have a relaxing night and watch the sunset while they enjoyed their flight of rum, which consisted of four of their choices of the rum the zoo had to offer, saying, “We really enjoy the calm the event brought. It is nice to get out and relax.”
The event not only had drinks and food, but they were selling cigars of all different types that the guests could sit on the deck and enjoy.
The zoo is one of Hattiesburg’s top attractions and brings in visitors from all over. If you missed this event just wait until next year and come out and join them for a night of fun.
