Coastal Mississippi-based indie rock band SAINT SOCIAL recently performed their highly anticipated debut ticketed show at The Sanctuary in Biloxi, marking a milestone in their career. While the band has extensive experience performing at corporate events, sporting occasions, and festivals, this was their first performance where the audience gathered exclusively to see them.
For fans in the Gulf Coast, the show was especially significant, offering the opportunity to experience the trio’s music in an intimate setting. The energy in the air was palpable as SAINT SOCIAL made their debut in their hometown.
The trio—vocalist Quinn Erwin, drummer Bryan Bourque, and guitarist Justin Gollott—have known each other since childhood. Though they officially formed as SAINT SOCIAL during the pandemic, their musical journey began in their teenage years. Despite moving around, the three kept in touch, and once they returned to the coast, they found themselves drawn back to their musical roots.
“When I moved back to the coast, it wasn’t a question of if we were going to play, but what we were going to do together… it felt like something we had to do, something we couldn’t help but do,” Erwin said.
This reunion led to the creation of their debut self-titled album, a blend of soulful melodies, anthemic choruses, and a tribute to their Gulf Coast origins. The album, years in the making, reflects the trio’s deep connection to their home region.
“We feel this place has its own sound, and not many artists have been able to carry that elsewhere,” Bourque said. “We’ve chosen to embrace it and create songs with a texture that reflects I-10, the beaches, and great Southern food. We’re hopeful our music can point back to home.”
A key aspect of their album is its emphasis on live performance. The band’s passion for performing live is evident, with a focus on creating a concert experience that fosters connection. The trio intentionally shaped their album with this in mind, ensuring the music would come alive on stage.
“We’ll always put together a track list based on what we can do with these songs live. It’s part of how we want our music to bring people together, and that will be a throughline for the life of our band,” Erwin said.
Leading up to their debut ticketed show at The Sanctuary, SAINT SOCIAL spent time promoting their album and strengthening their fanbase. With their live performance as a focal point, the band fine-tuned their act to ensure their songs translated seamlessly into a concert setting. Gollott highlighted the powerful connection between bandmates that defines their performances.
“The moments I love most usually involve the guys,” Gollott said. “Whether it’s Quinn and me, or Bryan and I, sharing a moment in a song where we’re really locked in on the rhythmic or melodic parts. I think of the end of the instrumental on ‘From Beginning to the End,’ when Bryan and I are really in sync with the guitar riff and drum pattern. It creates a synergistic moment in the set.”
For SAINT SOCIAL, their live shows are not just performances—they are experiences that reflect their shared passion for music and their deep-rooted connection to the Gulf Coast.
