The Lady Eagles improved to 14 – 7 after they defeated William Carey on senior day, 6 – 1.
The Lady won all the singles matches, except one.
Elana Roca had the most dominant match by only losing two sets, winning both 6 – 1. Tzu- Hui Chen won 7 – 5, 6 – 0, Tjasa Jerse won 6 – 4. 6 – 3 and Carolin Drescher won 6-0 and 6-4, her 66th in her career.
Alex Kitchen’s 6-1 and 6 – 3 wins set the all-time school career record wins in singles at 78.
Rikeetha Pereira was the only Lady Eagle to be defeated, losing 6-0 and 6-3 to William Carey’s Jelena Djordan.
The Lady Eagles had equal success in the doubles matches in which they swept William Carey.
The team of Kitchen and Drescher won 6 – 1, and the team of Roca and Pereira won 6 – 3. The team of Hui Chen and Jerse won 4-3, but did not finish the match.
Drescher and Kitchen’s win gave them 13 on the season. The win also brings Drescher and Kitchen to 68 career doubles wins, never switching partners in all four years.
The Lady Eagles travel to Denton, Texas to compete in the conference tournament April 20.
