Men’s Tennis earns win over DePaul

Men’s Tennis earns win over DePaul

The Southern Miss men’s tennis team earned its tenth home win of the season after defeating DePaul University 6-1 in Hattiesburg on March 22.

In the singles competitions, Southern Miss won five matches and lost one. Tom Cecchetto, Teeradon Tortrakul, Chung Han Tsai, Wen-Po Tseng and Jorman Reyes all notched singles victories on the day for the Golden Eagles.

The only win for DePaul on the day occurred when Luuk Wassenaar defeated Southern Miss’s Mikhail Espiov in three sets.

Southern Miss also experienced success in the doubles competitions. Reyes and Daniel Merker earned a 6-3 win in their doubles match, while Tsai and Tseng achieved their 11th win in doubles play on the season with a 6-2 win over DePaul’s Tripp Tuff and Conor O’Meara.

With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 13-3 on the season. They will face off against UAB, UTSA and Rice at the C-USA Showcase in San Antonio, Texas. Play will begin on March 30 and end on March 31.
