A week after a close loss against WKU, Southern Miss (2-7, 1-4 Conference USA) once again fell short of completing a comeback against UTSA (6-4, 4-2 Conference USA), losing 23-20.
After falling short against Western Kentucky, Southern Miss has entered the bottom of its racket (2-6, 1-3 Conference USA). As the season comes close to the end, Southern Miss finds itself in a must-win situation against the University of Texas at San Antonio (USTA).
After two postponed games, Southern Miss returned to play for the first time in three weeks against Liberty University. The Golden Eagles showed its rust, though, and failed to contain the Flames’ passing offense, which resulted in a 35-56 loss.
