Greek Life Challenge, Return for Tuition and More Highlight the Game

HATTIESBURG, Miss. — As part of the ROCKtober campaign, Southern Miss is proud to offer several exciting promotions for students at this Saturday’s homecoming game against UTSA. The start time is set for 6 p.m., at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium.

The Department of Athletics is proud to announce the Southern Miss Greek Life Challenge that will run in conjunction with this game. The Greek Organization that has the highest percentage of their membership in attendance against UTSA will be crowned the Greek Life Challenge champion. The winning organization will receive a To The Top Terrace spot for the Oct. 31 contest against UTEP.

Greek Life students will need to swipe their student IDs at the Greek Life table inside the Student Entrance of the stadium no later than the 10-minute mark of the first quarter in order to count toward their organization’s total. The winning organization will be announced during the 2nd half of the game.

Prior to the game, the Southern Miss Student Eagle Club will hold a tailgate for students from 3 – 6 p.m. in The District near the Little Rock. Free food will be available for students and the Southern Miss Men’s Basketball team will be in attendance from 4 – 5:30 p.m. to mix and mingle with students. The Men’s Basketball team will also be introduced and recognized at the Football game.

The first 500 students in attendance to Saturday’s game will receive a Gold Pom-Pom courtesy of Southern Miss Athletics. Additionally, the Southern Miss Student Eagle Club Return for Tuition will give one lucky Student Eagle Club member an opportunity to win tuition for a semester. Prior to the first kickoff return by Southern Miss, a Student Eagle Club member will be selected and have their name announced. If the Golden Eagles return their first kickoff of the game for a touchdown then that student will win tuition for a semester. The tuition awarded will be the equivalent to the in-state tuition cost for a semester.

As a “Thank You” to our great students, all student guest tickets have been reduced to $5 for the remainder of the season. These student guest tickets may be purchased at the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office (weekdays from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) or at the M.M. Roberts Stadium Ticket Office on the day of the game. Students must show their valid ID while purchasing these tickets.
