The University of Southern Mississippi Police Department made an arrest in conjunction with an incident occurring at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house on Friday, Jan. 20.

Twenty-one-year-old Foster Wicktom, who is not a USM student, was charged with rape, according to a mass email sent by the university. A female student reported the incident to UPD on Jan. 21 at 8 a.m.

UPD said there is no current threat to the campus community related to this incident.

University Chief Communications Officer Jim Coll said this arrest has no connection to the reported rape in Scott Hall.

This incident is the second reported rape on campus in 2017 that UPD has investigated  – both occurring within the same week.

More details will be released as information becomes available.
