School of Music to host guitar duo

Each Tuesday, the campus community has the opportunity to hear students and faculty in the School of Music perform at the Presidential Brown Bag series.

Jason Bergman, assistant professor of trumpet and coordinator of the Brown Bag series said is a way to get the School of Music noticed by a broader population on campus.

“The casual setting and location make it a perfect option for people on the go,” Bergman said.

“The series showcases the talented students and faculty that we have on campus.”

The final fall performance will be Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 12:15 p.m. The Belletones, an all women’s a cappella group will also perform in the Thad Cochran Center.

“The Belletones are a thrilling ensemble to hear live,” said Bergman. “The audience is sure to enjoy their exciting music.”

The Southern Miss Guitar Studio performed Nov. 5.

“Our guitar studio is one of the best in the country,” Bergman said. “Dr. Ciraldo is a fantastic professor and has created a wonderful classical guitar program at USM.”
