Mississippi’s first influenza case of the season was recently confirmed, according to a news release by the Mississippi State Department of Health on Oct. 29. The flu, which has similar symptoms to the common cold, can cause high fevers, headaches, fatigue, chills and other symptoms that can become severe.

The Bedie Smith Health Clinic on campus is offering flu shots now until they run out. Students can walk in and get a flu shot for $25.
