The Young Americans for Liberty chapter at The University of Southern Mississippi will host United States presidential candidate Chase Oliver for a virtual discussion today, Oct. 23, 2024, from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. The event will take place in Scianna Hall and is open to students, faculty, and members of the community.
Jackson Evans, a member of the Young Americans for Liberty chapter, emphasized the importance of the event.
“This is a unique opportunity for students to hear directly from a 2024 presidential candidate and gain insight into his ideas and vision for our country,” Evans said.
He highlighted that the discussion would give students a chance to ask questions and learn more about America’s third-largest political party, the Libertarian Party, offering a broader understanding beyond the dominant Republican and Democratic parties.
“Presidential elections shape policies that affect students, including education funding, student loan policies, and job market conditions after graduation,” Evans continued. “As US citizens, students have a responsibility to participate in the democratic process and influence the direction of the country.”
Chase Oliver, known for his advocacy for liberty and individual rights, is expected to share his perspective on the current political landscape. The event’s organizers hope students will attend to engage in meaningful discussions on issues that matter to them.
“Students should attend to hear how the candidate addresses issues impacting their lives, such as tuition reform, access to affordable education, and policies affecting their rights and opportunities on campus,” said Evans.
The discussion will offer students a chance to better understand how their concerns are represented in politics and provide an opportunity to interact with a presidential candidate as election season approaches.

I am a fan of Chase. Although he will not win, it is nice to see multiple perspectives beyond the two parties.

A good thing to know about a third party candidate! The young man presenting this seems to know a lot about individual rights. Thank you for sharing.
