The University of Southern Mississippi’s Pi Kappa Phi fraternity will host its annual No Boundaries Week to benefit The Ability Experience this week.

The Ability Experience is a non-profit organization that serves to benefit those with severe disabilities through fundraisers and different events such as cycling events and construction projects.

USM’s Pi Kappa Phi will hold different events ranging from a step show to rap battles, and also including a separate cycling event known as “The Journey of Hope.” For this event, participants bike from Oregon or California to Washington D.C in an effort to raise money and awareness for The Ability Experience.

Pi Kappa Phi President Jacob Garrett said each night of No Boundaries Week will feature a different fundraising event.

On Monday, the fraternity will host its profit share at Raising Canes from 2-6 p.m.

On Tuesday night, it will host its Mega Bowl Step Show in the Payne Center from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Wednesday, the fraternity will bowl with the members of the ARC at Hub Lanes from 3-5 p.m.

Thursday will mark the conclusion of No Boundaries Week and will feature the Pi Kapp Classic basketball tournament. The Pi Kapp Classic championship game will also feature a rap battle between sororities during halftime.

Our goal is to show people how being disabled doesn’t limit people from having fun and enjoying themselves,” said Sam White, junior Pi Kappa Phi philanthropy chair. “We will be sharing information about our philanthropy to help others overcome misconceptions about those with disabilities throughout the week. It’s going to be a fun time and I guarantee that you (will) learn something new.”

White said that he expects the fraternity to raise $15,000 for The Ability Experience through this year’s No Boundaries Week.
