Southern Miss students Taylor Medeiros, Olivia Hosey, John Franklin (all 19 years old) and Tristan Campbell, 18, were arrested for various charges after a deputy officer smelled alcohol in their vehicle at a traffic stop on spring break, according to the Walton County Sheriff’s office in Destin, Florida.

Fox 10 TV reported that Franklin was charged with minor in possession of alcohol, cocaine possession, two counts of drug possession and four counts for possession of narcotic equipment. The other three students, Hosey, Medeiros and Campbell were arrested for minor in possession of alcohol.

After Franklin gave the deputy consent to search his car, the officer discovered a bag inside the vehicle containing a set of throwing knives, a digital scale and a bag of narcotics, which tested positive for cocaine. Fox 10 TV reported that officials said that Franklin brought the bag and said he bought the drugs while on spring break.

After the officer arrested the four students, he also found marijuana paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
